Fumatorium

The short story “Fumatorium” was written by Robert Steven Goldstein as a high school student in 1969.  It won first prize in that year’s National Scholastic Magazine short story contest.  Two decades later “Fumatorium” was optioned by Hollywood screenwriters, but no movie was ever produced.
